Looking forward to being at University College Birmingham tomorrow, speaking to undergraduates about building an inclusive technology workforce.
We’ll be having an honest conversation about what’s actually getting in the way of entering tech, and what needs to change.
Because honestly, the barriers are real:
* You need experience to get experience
* Opportunities go to people who know people
* Access isn’t equal
* And too many systems still filter people out before they’ve had a chance to prove what they can do
But we’ll also talk about what can actually be done: by industry, and by students themselves.
Most importantly, we’ll talk about action.
Not when you feel ready.
Not when you graduate.
But now.
