Women of Inspiration: Kanwal Rauf and the Power of Students Stepping into Real-World Impact

Continuing my International Women's Day 2026 Women of Inspiration series, today I’m proud to spotlight Kanwal Rauf 💜

Kanwal’s leadership goes far beyond her title as Head of Computing at University College Birmingham. What sets her apart is her unwavering commitment to ensuring her students don’t just learn theory - they step into real-world impact.

Through her support of We Job Box, her Computing Ambassadors have become role models in action. Seeing students like Arian Latifi, Afsar Ahmed, Shreya Sharma, Kamil Kostrzewa and others step forward as We Job Box floorwalkers - guiding, supporting, and inspiring younger cohorts - has been incredibly powerful.

That ripple effect matters.

Kanwal understands that access alone isn’t enough. It has to be structured. Scalable. Measurable. And rooted in belief - belief in her students and belief in what they can contribute.

Our relationship is one I deeply value. It’s built on trust, shared purpose, and a mutual drive to democratise opportunity in digital and technology careers.

Grateful for your partnership with We Job Box.
